National Youth Orchestra of Yuri Bashmet has presented the world premieres at the Festival in Sochi
National Youth Symphony Orchestra, led by Yuri Bashmet, Vice President of the Council of Russian Union of Rightholders, presented three world premieres at the closing ceremony of the XIII Winter International Arts Festival in Sochi.
In particular, the audience enjoyed the work by Oscar Bianchi “Etoile” (“The Star”) performed by German guitarist Nico Coke, “Uza” for the Toschio Hosokov Symphony Orchestra and the First Symphony by Nicola Campogrande.
The program complemented by the concerto for marimba, percussion and the orchestra of Nebojshi Zhivkovich with the participation of the author, as well as compositions by Rossini, Dvorak, Ravel, Bruch, Sarasate and Glinka. It was a certain risk to entrust such a diverse program to a team of young musicians under the age of 22, the organizers noted.
“We teach them fidelity, accuracy of reading the text, that is, academic art,” emphasized Maestro Bashmet, speaking about National Youth Symphony Orchestra, the participants of which he has been selecting throughout the country since 2012. – Today, at the closing ceremony of the Festival, the most complicated compositions are performed: romance, classic, and modern. And we see the results of the orchestra performance.”
