The World Youth Orchestras Television Marathon is adapted to the pandemic
The first Television Marathon of the World Youth Orchestras will take place in 2021. According to ClassicalMusicNews, the task of the competition adapted to the conditions of the pandemic is aimed to support young performers who had the hardest time amid restrictions and lockdowns.
The idea of holding the show belongs to Yuri Bashmet. The project involves musicians from 28 countries.
During the television marathon, classical works will be performed, as well as experimental works by contemporary authors. It is planned that about two dozen youth orchestras will take part in the project.
