A perspective platform for intellectual property rights management, IPChain, to be presented at the St. Petersburg Cultural Forum
World practice of applying blockchain technologies for the management of intellectual property rights will be discussed by participants in a special panel discussion “Creation of the world practice of using blockchain technologies for the intellectual property rights management in Russia: from patents and inventions to books, pictures, photos, music and films” held on November 18, as part of the business program of the VI St. Petersburg Cultural Forum.
The partner of the panel discussion is the “National Coordination Center for Processing Transactions with Rights and Objects of Intellectual Property” Association (IPChain).
During the discussion, a promising IPChain platform will be presented – an innovative project designed to form the Russian national network of transactions of intellectual property rights and objects, the network infrastructure of trust for the industry.
The Russian IPChain project, which will be presented at the VI St. Petersburg Cultural Forum, is intended to become an infrastructure base for a number of rights management services, including the first national intellectual property exchange.
“The use of blockchain technologies will largely predetermine the future of the intellectual property sphere,” – president of the Association “National Coordination Center for Processing Transactions with Rights and Objects of Intellectual Property”, Andrey Krichevsky said. — “Practical steps to create a distributed register in Russia to fix rights to intellectual property objects and transactions with them will create the basis for a fundamentally new system for involving creative products in the economic turnover.”
“National Coordination Center for Processing Transactions with Rights and Objects of Intellectual Property” (IPChain) Association was established in September 2017. Among the founders of the Association are the Partnership for the Protection and Management of Rights in the Arts (UPRAVIS), the Russian Organization for Intellectual Property (VOIS), Russian Union of Rightholders (RUR), Russian Authors’ Society (RAO). The main task of the Center is the implementation of the IPChain project, aimed at the formation of a national network of transactions of rights and objects of intellectual property.
