The Russian Film Festival in Nice will be held from December 4 to 8
On December 4-8, the VI Festival of Russian Cinema will take place in Nice, organized by the Gosfilmofond of Russia with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Town Council of Nice.
The program of the event includes Soviet feature films (film adaptations of French classics) and cartoons from the collection of Gosfilmofond, among them the tapes “The Ghost That Never Returns” by Abram Room, “Gobseck” by Konstantin Eggert, “Don’t Be Sad!” by George Danelia, as well as “Tom Thumb” by Olga Khodataeva,“ Cinderella ”by Ivan Aksenchuk and others.
In addition, guests of the festival will see rental news released on the wide Russian screen this year. This is “The Story of an Appoinment” by Avdotya Smirnova, “Sea Buckthorn Summer” by Viktor Alferov, as well as the film “Upward Movement” by Anton Megerdichev, which has become the highest grossing Russian film in the history of modern domestic film distribution.
The film of Alexei Uchitel “Matilda” – the love story of Nikolai Romanov, the heir to the Russian throne and Matilda Kshesinskaya, the ballerina of the imperial theater will open the festival.
Famous Russian directors, actors and representatives of the domestic film industry will take part in the event. The festival’s free screenings will be held at the Pate Gard du Sud cinema, as well as at Cinematheque Nice.
