IPChain Association expands network in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan

Such a network will make it possible to track the movement of intellectual property not only in the country of its production, but also abroad, said Artem Tovbin, Director of Digital Technologies of the Association

IPChain Association (National Coordination Centre for Processing Transactions with Intellectual Property Rights and Items) begins cooperation with partners in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan within a global digital network building based on blockchain technologies. This was announced by Artem Tovbin, Director of Digital Technologies of the Association, speaking at the Russian-Kyrgyz interregional conference “The role of digital transformation in the economic integration of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic”.

“In partnership with the Eurasian Confederation of Rights Owner Societies, the IPChain Association is opening network nodes in different states. We do not dream about the future, we are already building it: the IPChain network nodes are being organized in Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan,” IPChain’s press service quoted Tovbin.

Such a digital network will allow tracking the movement of intellectual property not only in the country of its production, but also abroad.

“In the modern digital economy, intellectual property is becoming the underlying asset”, said Tovbin. The IPChain Association is building a network that allows you to track all transactions in which the movement of goods generates data on their components. Absolute transparency, a digital infrastructure of trust – this is what will help our countries in the development of bilateral cooperation and trade.”

According to the director of digital technologies IPChain, the association’s experts have already successfully cooperated with the Kyrgyz side in introducing IT infrastructure into the functionality of the State Intellectual Property and Innovation Service under the Government of Kyrgyzstan and are involved in digitizing patent databases and archives of Kyrgyzpatent.

The IPChain Association was established in 2017. It was founded by the foundation “Skolkovo”, the Russian Organization for Intellectual Property (VOIS), the Higher School of Economics, the Russian Union of Rightholders (RUR), the Saint Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, the Russian Authors’ Society (RAO), the Partnership for the Protection and Management of Copyrights in the Field of Art (UPRAVIS), and the New Century bank. The main goal of the IPChain project is building an international network of transactions with intellectual property rights and items.
